ABOUT THE AUTHOR

DAD.jpg

Colin majored in history at the University of Sydney, Australia, before studying law. He has always yearned to write fiction and part wrote his first novel one summer university holiday. However that incomplete draft and thoughts of a writing career were abandoned, or at least indefinitely postponed, with graduation looming and the need to earn an income. Much to his parents’ relief, Colin succumbed to the lure of a “sensible” career.

After enduring 35 dreary years as a lawyer and partner in a major Sydney law firm, Colin finally broke free, resolving to at last combine his dream of writing with his passion for history.

Colin spent the next few years on research, pursuing the topics which interested him most intensely, ultimately reviewing some 300 books and scholarly articles, and exploring virtually all the places which would be mentioned in his novels.

Call the Intention Good was Colin's first novel: an epic of historical fiction. The novel is a suspenseful mystery thriller, set in the Europe of the high middle ages which is intent on rediscovering the "lost" knowledge of the ancients, but is still deeply mired in medieval superstition and barbarity.

Colin's second novel, Call the Acts Chaos, is the final novel in the Córdoban Manuscripts series.

He has recently completed his third novel, The Shadows of Dhyâna, a fast moving mystery thriller, jumping between the modern day western world and India ruled by the East India Company 200 years ago, spiced with mystical Indian powers. It is yet to be published.

Colin is married, with grown up children and 6 young grandchildren. He lives with his wife near Sydney, Australia.
