WELCOME

Colin Windeyer writes historical fiction. So far he has written 3 books.
In The Córdoban Manuscripts series he has written Call the Intention Good and Call the Acts Chaos, which should be read in that order.
These two novels are suspenseful mystery thrillers set in medieval Europe during the latter part of "the Renaissance of the Twelfth Century", when universities were proliferating throughout Europe and huge numbers of ancient books lost to Western Christendom during “the Dark Ages” were being discovered in the great Moorish libraries captured by the Christian armies during “the Reconquista”, the Christian conquest of what is now Spain. The story in the first novel, Call the Intention Good, centres around one such book, a hugely valuable but dangerous book. Only a few learn of the book. Some covet it for the wealth it promises; some for its scholarship. Others seek to destroy it. All will do anything to have it.
Free content for The Córdoban Manuscripts series includes a Prequel to Call the Intention Good, Plans and photos of relevant medieval towns and Historical Background.
Colin has just published a third, and entirely different novel. The Shadows of Dhyâna is a suspenseful mystery thriller which jumps between British India 200 years ago, ruled by the East India Company, and the modern western world, spiced with mystical Indian powers.

REVIEWS
Adventure, intrigue, religious and feudal confrontation...The unfolding story has an urgency continually supported by skilful writing. The areas of Languedoc, Aragon, Castille, Leon, Al Andalus create a rich texture….This book is a rare find.

The story line was intriguing and moved along at a good pace………..Recommended for people who liked Ken Follet's epics such as "Pillars of the Earth"

For those who like a story full of action, there is plenty. For those who enjoy being realistically transported to another era with wonderful metaphors bringing the scene vividly alive it certainly achieves that. Those who appreciate the development of characters and different threads throughout a story will not be disappointed....A book well worth reading.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Colin majored in history at the University of Sydney, Australia, before studying law. He has always yearned to write fiction and part wrote his first novel one summer university holiday. However that incomplete draft and thoughts of a writing career were abandoned, or at least indefinitely postponed,
with graduation looming and the need to earn an income.
After enduring 35 dreary years as a lawyer and partner in a major Sydney law firm, Colin finally broke free, resolving to at last combine his dream of writing with his passion for history.
